We’re ALWAYS looking for volunteers!

Volunteers are a very important and crucial part of the Pittsfield Prevention Partnership’s work! Here are some GREAT volunteer opportunities:

Alcohol Purchase Surveys:

Mystery Shoppers:

Want to make $50 for just 3 hours of work?! Are you 21-23 years old?! The PPP is looking for Mystery Shoppers for our Alcohol Purchase Surveys (APS) this summer!

The APS is a project designed to see if the clerks at liquor stores and the bartenders at restaurants and bars are asking for ID from youthful looking buyers. In order to make this project happen, we need Mystery Shoppers! As Mystery Shoppers, we ask you to enter liquor stores, bars, and restaurants to take a survey of whether clerks or servers are checking for identification.

Drivers:

Hey, just because you’re over 23 years old, doesn’t mean you can’t help out! We’re also looking for anyone over 21, with a car, to help drive our shoppers to the respective establishments.

Shoulder Taps:

Calling all high schoolers! We need volunteers under 21 to take part in our Shoulder Taps Surveys!

These surveys measure the willingness of complete strangers to buy alcohol for a minor. Volunteers, with the cooperation of the police department, stand outside of liquor stores and ask customers who enter or exit the establishment to buy them alcohol. No monetary exchange is actually made- instead, depending on the reaction of the stranger, volunteers educate these customers on the dangers and consequences of providing alcohol to underage drinkers.

 Sticker Shock:

“Hey You!! It is ILLEGAL to provide alcohol for people under 21!!” We need young volunteers to help stick these colorful and informative stickers on bottles in liquor stores! A simple but fun way to spread awareness and remind adults to prevent underage drinking.

Rx Round-Up

Two days out of a year are dedicated to collecting and disposing of unused, unwanted or expired medications that are left lying around the home. We’re always in need of volunteers- medical personnel or otherwise to help manage the drop off locations n North, Central and South Berkshire Counties. The next Rx Round-ups will be September 27, 2014 and April 25th, 2015, both between 10am-2pm. For more information, click here!

411 in the 413 Youth Conference

Do you have any special talents? Want to share your knowledge and skills with Berkshire youth? Then this annual conference is what you need! We welcome anyone to lead a workshop at the next 411 in the 413 conference being held on April 16th, 2015.

Third Thursdays

Looking for some tabling opportunities? From the month of May till October of every summer, the PPP has its own table at Third Thursdays. We appreciate any help setting up, and cleaning up, as well as manning the table. We have tons of free give-aways and even a raffle prize if you fill out a survey!

Social Media:

Are you tech savvy? Do you love blogging? Then, great! The PPP would love to have volunteers help us out with our online visibility. We have a Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram that all need your creative touch!

Administrative Support/ Survey and Data Collection:

Is crunching numbers your thing? Do Excel, PowerPoint and Survey Monkey excite you?

We are looking for volunteers to help out with data entry and administering surveys- a great way to help out and also gain some technical skill to put on your resume.

IT’S YOUR TURN!!!

Know of any other ways that you could be of help to the Pittsfield Prevention Partnership? Look no further:
